ColorsInLife - History

 My grandparents live in a very small village in India that has a population of about 2000-3000 people. They have provided a huge amount of moral and economic support to the people living in the village for more than 50 years. In 2019, I visited this village to help my grandparents fundraise and perform a classical Bharatnatyam dance for the fundraising event. The amount raised was used for building a new drinking water system for the school kids and village residents. I interacted with many people, but the most impactful interactions were with the children of the village. After seeing my performance, these kids wanted the ability and opportunity to perform and express themselves through music. Due to their economic situations, it was difficult for their families to provide any lessons. Hearing this prompted me to provide an opportunity to these children. Knowing art has allowed me to cope with any tough situation. In fact it has allowed me to better myself through obstacles I have faced. I wanted to give these kids the opportunity to pursue art. And ColorsInLife gives these children the ability to control their own situations by expressing themselves through various beautiful art forms.
